17th August - Stitching and Drawing Workshop with Jeanette Orrell

10am - 3pm
Your ticket includes unlimited tea and coffee and lunch. The price also the materials to create your pieces which you will take home with you.
Experience the mindfulness of these techniques in the tranquil setting of the Walled Garden School, while learning some new craft skills from a true expert.
The workshop will begin with a morning walk around the Walled Garden, where you will collect a variety of flowers, plants and other natural objects to then draw using brushes, pens and ink.
You will then be taking these ink drawings into a slow-stitching afternoon, where you will be stitching images inspired by your drawings onto cloth.
All stitching abilities welcome.

About Jeanette
Jeanette is an artist based in mid-Wales, her practice is rooted in drawing and weaves together a fine art practice with craft techniques.. She received an Arts Council of Wales award in 2017, which allowed her to travel to Japan and study traditional techniques of Katazome, Shibori and indigo dyeing. More recently, in 2021 she received an Arts Wales International grant to return to continue her study of indigo in Japan. She has been running indigo workshops alongside her daughter, Ellie, since 2018.
